Parcely ("we", "us", "our") is a New Zealand property research platform operated from New Zealand.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. By creating an account or using Parcely, you agree to the practices described below.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed copy of your password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google.
Usage data
We collect information about how you use Parcely, including chat messages, property searches, document uploads, and feature usage counts.
Uploaded documents
If you upload documents (e.g. LIM reports, property titles), we store and process them to provide AI-powered analysis. Documents are stored securely and associated only with your account.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve our property research services.
- To process your chat queries and generate AI responses.
- To manage your account and subscription.
- To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse.
- To communicate with you about your account or service updates.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your chat content or uploaded documents to train third-party AI models.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Parcely:
- Supabase (AU region) — database, authentication, and file storage.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — AI chat responses.
- OpenAI — text embeddings for document search.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
- Google — OAuth authentication (optional).
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — geocoding for property lookups.
- LINZ — New Zealand land information data.
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies before using features that rely on them. We only share the minimum information needed for each service to function.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is hosted on Supabase infrastructure in the Australia (AU) region. It is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use row-level security policies to ensure your data is accessible only to you and to authorised Parcely staff when required for support.
6. Data Retention
- Free tier: chat history is retained for 7 days, then deleted.
- Paid tier: chat history and uploaded documents are retained for as long as your subscription is active.
- Account deletion: on request, we delete all of your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or billing reasons.
7. Your Rights
Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Withdraw consent for data processing.

8. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
